Mechanism of action

·         Another enzyme, phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5), cleaves or breaks down cGMP.

·         When cGMP is destroyed, blood vessels return to their original size and erections stop. Vardenafil prevents the breakdown of cGMP by PDE5. This allows cGMP to function for longer. It is therefore effective in maintaining an erection.

Dosage and use
